Connection with the Enterprise Server

First of all, you need to set the parameters to connect TIMONE System with Enterprise Server.

In the Administration module, from System > Configurations (or Config. Publication if you want to set it just for a specific publication) > PRODUCTION, set the production software in use (SCE). 

Then in System > Configuration > Group=SCE set:

Create a New Publication:

Once logged into WoodWing Enterprise, Select "Brand".

Create a New Publication:

Creating from scratch:

  1. In section Brand;

  2. Click on green NEW;



  3. insert the name of the publication and the required information;

  4. click on UPDATE.


Duplicate a Publication:

  1. From the section "Brand", identify a publication of reference that you want to duplicate;

  2. Click "Copy" at the bottom of the screen of the brand;

  3. Choose the publication of departure and enter the name of the new publication that you want to duplicate;

  4. Click copy to create the new publication.

Successive Steps:

1. Numbers Issues configuration

once you have Once the user has created the publication it is possible to create inside the numbers issues in the enterprise by executing the following path:

  1. Open the publication Publication of interest;

  2. Click on "Print";


  3. Select "Add Issue".


         

Note

NB: The name of the publication and the names of the numbers issues must be configured identically in TIMONE System and WoodWing Enterprise, to allow a correct synchronization of the information between the two systems. 



2. Layout configuration

it It is important that the order of the states of the layout is configured by following the same order WoodWing Enterprise and in TIMONE System.

Note

NB: In the definition phase of the order of the Status, it is advisable to leave a dozen between one state and the next one. This will make it much easier to add any new state.

 


3. Configuring user permissions

in In the stage of the configuration of a new publication is essential to correctly configure the permissions of users.

Channel and Issue

Create a new Publication Channel from the Brand page in Enterprise.

The exact name of the publication channel used in SCE must be written in the TIMONE System configuration   SCE_pub_channel in System > Configurations (Config. Publication) > SCE.

Now, you can create and manage the issues under the channel page.

To synchronize an issue in TIMONE System, the new issue must be created in SCE (same publication and channel) called as the "Prod Code" of the already existent one.

Instead, if a new issue is to be created, it's possible to use TIMONE System to create the issue from Timone Plan Issue Management Panel, ensuring to check the "Create issue in the prod system" box; this option enables the automatic issue creation in SCE.

Create the following workflows: layout, layout_template and adv from Workflow in the Brand page.

Editorial Status

SCE layout workflow statuses have to be synchronized through the TIMONE Administration page Production > Mapping of the Workflow Statuses with the TIMONE System Editorial Statuses.

This page allows the user to match the statuses between the two systems, without making any change to the original configuration.

Sections

Section names in TIMONE System must correspond exactly to the categories of Enterprise.

One of the defined section will be dedicated to ads, this section name need to be written in the   SCE_AdvSection configuration.

Templates

All the layout templates created in InDesign have to be assigned to the right publication, issue and section and they must have the same name set in the TIMONE System Administration page Production > Layout Templates.

The advertising templates are simple empty pages, but they have to be called in this specific way: "ADV_<materialformat>" where material format is the exact name of the material format used for the ad.

You need to set the configuration   SCE_Advert_name that defines the rule used to build the name of the adv layouts in the production system.

The user can build the name using the following patterns:

  • #publication# - name of the publication;

  • #issue# - name of the issue;

  • #edition# - name of the edition (if enabled and the name is different than “*”);

  • #page# - number of the page where the ad placeholder is allocated (1 digit);

  • #page??# - number of the page where the ad placeholder is allocatedv (2 digit);

  • #page???# - number of the page where the ad placeholder is allocated (3 digit);

  • #jobticket# - job ticket number (just if the booking is placed on the adv format);

  • #pubCod# - publication ERP code;

  • #folio# - folio number of the page where the ad placeholder ad is allocated;

  • #idLayProd# - production ID layout (if present);

  • #customer# - booking customer name (just if the booking is placed on the adv format);

  • #product# - booking product name (just if the booking is placed on the adv format);

  • #format# - adv format code;

  • #formattext# - adv format notes (if present);

  • #uid# - univocal ID (suggested to avoid the creation of already existent names).
