Peppers is a workflow solution aimed at photo optimization and retouching environments.
Peppers allows designers and photo editors to communicate easily allowing designers to work on a layout and photo editors on image optimization. The Graphic Designer can assign different jobs on images directly from the layout using the Peppers Adobe® InDesign® plugin, or through the web application and photo editors receive images to modify.
Peppers platform provides a combined, integrated environment for the image content to be worked. A task-based workflow model allows images to be sent, modified and sent back from and to everywhere with a complete track activities system.
The Peppers InDesign Module integrates Adobe® Photoshop® and Binuscan® to execute a series of automatic actions as crop and resize, color correction, PSD conversion and image grouping. If used in integration with Vjoon K4® or Woodwing Enterprise®, this module gets the document structure information of the Editorial System.
- Peppers integrates directly within the workflow specified in the editorial system’s configuration, and it allows to manage a separate workflow for the processing of images. The InDesign plugin puts in communication the Graphic designer who is responsible for the positioning of images in the InDesign layout and who defines the operations to be performed for each image and the Photo Editor who will work on the image files. Inside Peppers this is named Editorial Workflow.
- Peppers can also work as a standalone solution without the combination of the editorial system and the InDesign client application. In this case, it will use a different workflow from the editorial’s one. Within the web portal, it is possible to create “orders” for images to be optimized that will be taken on by a photo editor. Inside Peppers this is named Order Workflow.
In the following sub-chapters, possible three workflows are described in details with different flow charts to explain all the statuses and the operations for each specific role inside each Peppers workflow.
