In TIMONE Plan, the word "Editorial" refers to the pages that compose a story, an editorial service. An editorial corresponds to what will become the InDesign file in the production environment. In TIMONE Plan you define for example that a story shall have a specific quantity of pages, a title, that it will go into a specific section, that it will go on specific pages within the issue, ecc..
If the system is used in integration with an editorial production system, in TIMONE Plan you can assign an InDesign layout template to this story and you can automatically create the InDesign file for this story. If you change the position of the story in the flat plan, the page numbering in the InDesign file is automatically changed by the system for the designers, etc.
The interaction between planning and production environments with reference to Editorials shall be treated more specifically in a proper section.
Let's now focus very simply on how to create an Editorial in TIMONE Plan.
To create a new editorial from scratch, it is necessary to follow the steps below:
1) Open the an Issue and choose the tab “Editorials”
2) Click on the icon containing a green +;
3) Fill in the fields in the window showing up on the left side of the screen ;

| Status | the The workflow status of the editorial (the workflow part which needs planning and production to be synchronized will have identical workflow steps in both TIMONE Plan and editorial system). In TIMONE Plan you can have also additional workflow steps (for example "Only planned", when the editorial service is only planned but not yet in production). The status is automatically assigned to editorials based on the work in progress. |

4) Once you have filled in all the information you need, confirm using the green tick on the upper left side of the panel.
5) The created new editorial is now becomes available within the Editorials list.
