If there is a crash of TIMONE Plan (you launch it in the opening phase, but it does not open) a possible workaround is to rename the folder preset:

As encountered by different users, it may happen that by performing a downgrade of TIMONE System and starting later clients, these should be in error (usually having a screen completely gray) because the preferences of the later versions have been enriched with new data and are no longer compatible.

On MAC OS X < 10.9 was sufficient to eliminate the folder PLAN_PRESETS (positioned in the home of the user) and the files it.tellnet.tiller.plist and it.tellnet.gem.plist (positioned in the Library Folder/Preferences of the user home; there can be accessed from the Finder menu -> Go -> Library [the item appears if you hold down the Option key, see attached screenshot]).

 Starting with MAC OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) was implemented a caching mechanism of preferences which negates the cancellation of the plist file; in order to obviate this drawback it is necessary to perform the following Terminal commands with clients and closed prior to deleting the plist file:

Section
$ defaults delete it.tellnet.timone

$ defaults delete it.tellnet.gemma

Subsequent to the execution of the commands you can proceed to the cancellation of the plist file and the start up of the client, which will restore the default preference.

Starting from version 8.2.0 is provided an advanced management of the preferences that will avoid problems in downgrade, however this procedure remains valid for versions released until today.
